Brand Should Be Focus Of Web Design And Development

Once you have defined what your brand is, it should be the focus of your Web design and development. This should be understood when you seek out a Murrieta Web design and development company.

Proper Web design and development is critical to developing your brand.  A poorly designed website reflects poorly on your company and that can become an unwanted part of the brand.

First of all, the website needs to be functional. If it doesn’t deliver what customers expect, then your company will be branded as one that isn’t reliable or doesn’t deliver on its promises.

So, you need to make sure the website loads correctly and is easy to navigate. Also, any applications or functions on pages must work as expected.

Once this is taken care of, then you can focus on the design and how to use it to develop your bran. Your logo should be the top priority, and it should displayed prominently on every page, preferably at the top left part of each page, which is where people tend to look for the logo and any other clues for what page they are on.

Color is an important aspect to consider. Consider colors for your website that were included in your logo. But, also consider the emotional impact of the colors.  Do some research to determine how people react to colors you are considering. For example, red tends to bring out a passionate response while green often has a calming effect.

Functionality also is important to consider with the choice of colors. Make sure the colors you choose don’t make the website difficult to read. For example, don’t have light font colors on a light background or dark font colors on a dark background.

The font you choose should be one that reflects your brand. For example, you don’t want to use a font that looks like a child’s handwriting if you want your brand to reflect professionalism in a business-to-business setting. Also, you don’t want a common, straight font if you want a brand to reflect a fun and playful attitude.

Make sure that the font you choose is easily readable. If you have any doubts, try a different font, size or spacing.

Also, be consistent with fonts. You can have different fonts for text, headers and menus, but don’t have different fonts for text on different pages or different articles on the same page.

The content also should reflect the brand, not just in what the content is about, but how it is written. For example, you should include humor and a relaxed, conversational tone if your brand is a fun, playful one. A more professional tone should be used for a business-to-business brand.

You also want to have a website that is unique in how it reflects your brand. If you use a common theme from an open source Web host, your website will look a lot like other ones, which will prevent you from standing out from the competition.

This is why it is important to use someone who knows how to blend all these elements together in a professional manner, such as an in-house designer or a designer from another source, such as a Murrieta Web design and development company. If your website doesn’t reflect your desired brand, it could do irreparable damage to it.

Functionality Is Most Important Part Of Web Design And Development

Functionality should be your main focus when redesigning a website or when looking for a Murrieta Web design and development company to design a new site for you. Functionality plays a large part in how successful your new website will be in so many ways.

No matter how good a website looks and how much great content it has on it, if it isn’t functional, it will ultimately fail. If a website is functional, then it delivers what the customers expect it to.

Is Responsive Web Design Really Necessary?

If you work in the web design industry then you probably have heard a new term recently. It’s called responsive web design and to be quite honest, this sounds like it is going to become a staple in the industry. “I think it’s a must have now,” says Josh Paschall, Lead Web Designer for Spotya! Media. “You just have to move with the times.”

In the past, you had to create different versions of your website for separate devices. You would have to create a design to fit to a mobile device–and not just one kind of device, either. You would have to make a site that worked with the Blackberry, the Androids, one that worked with the iPhone, and let’s not forget the netbooks and iPads. Responsive web design allows the website to adapt to any screen that it’s being displayed on.

How Does Responsive Web Design Stack Up?

In 2012, smartphone web browsing use shot up 55%, and the number will only increase. Based on this statistic, responsive web design is the present and the future. Through an attractive blend of fluid images and grids, with a dash of smart markup here and there, you have a masterpiece of a website that will fit and can be viewed to any device. A prime example would be this website for a strawberry farm in Temecula valley that we have created in house at Spotya! Media headquarters. If you look at the site on a mobile phone, you will see all of the elements stay on the screen, only they will stack differently. (You can even switch your smartphone view from portrait to landscape and watch the content adapt.)

From the consumer’s point of view, when looking at a website on any device, missing content could very well cost you a sale. So as web designers and developers, it’s always best practice to double check and make sure your website works on every device. If you follow this practice, then responsible web design may not save you any time as far as design goes, but you can feel proud of the work that you completed when presenting it to your client. We have used this when we designed for several clients in Temecula and the surrounding area and they all love it!

Regardless of what type of device your customers have, you can be sure they won’t be dealing with any partial content, especially on the mobile versions of your website. Now visitors will be able to view all of the content you have to offer. Judging by the growth of technology over the past 5 years, it’s safe to say that over the next 5 to 10 years, we will be designing for a greater amount of devices. Thank goodness for responsive web design, huh?
